About Me

I’ve been playing the ukulele for as long as I can remember.  Initially I tuned it to an open chord, but it wasn’t long before I wanted more.  Before I knew it, I was playing along with songs on the radio and finding out that it’s a lot more than a toy.

Over the years I’ve played with an assortment of bands.  There have been groups at school, barn dance bands and even a 1920s dance band.  That’s what’s so great about the ukulele, it’s adaptable.  It’s also easy to play and a lot of fun.  So get ready to enjoy yourself.  It may be only small, but it can give you a lot of pleasure.

Where did the ukulele come from and what has George Formby got to do with anything? Just who are the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain?  Where do you begin and where will it all end?

Some or none of these questions will be answered in the days ahead, so check in and keep ahead of the pack.  As with anything, the more you know about it, the more you’ll enjoy it.
